Newton Burgoland Primary School

Together We Can Achieve Excellence

Headteachers Welcome

Visitors to our exceptional school often tell us the same thing: stepping through our doors feels like coming home. It feels safe, nurturing—like being wrapped in a cosy blanket.

With small classes, remarkable learners, and dedicated, passionate teachers, Newton Burgoland Primary School truly is an extraordinary place in the heart of the country.

Quite simply, it’s the best school in the Milky Way!

Together we achieve Excellence

Everyone welcome    everyone special    everyone a winner

To be a learner at Newton Burgoland Primary School is to thrive, flourish, and excel. Reading sits proudly at the centre of our curriculum because we know that a genuine love of reading opens doors to future success. Our wider curriculum is rich, vibrant, and thoughtfully crafted—designed to meet the unique needs of every child.

Learners move seamlessly from nurseries and pre-schools into our community, continuing to enjoy Forest School, outdoor learning, and hands-on exploration from their earliest years right through to Year 6.

Our ethos is built on unconditional positive regard. Relationships matter deeply to us—within our classrooms, across our community, and far beyond our school gates. Everything we do is shaped around the children and families we serve.

Our pupils are successful, confident learners with strong learning habits. They are proud to belong to Newton Burgoland Primary School—and I am privileged and proud to be their Headteacher.

Welcome to Newton Burgoland Primary School.

ns for all

We believe that learning should be an amazing adventure for all children, enabling them to experience challenge and the joy of achievement across and within a rich, diverse curriculum. We want the best for our learners.

We believe in the value of community, where every member is a contributor to the greater sum of the whole. We believe our children are entitled to have it all: knowledge, skills, happiness and a thirst to live and learn.

We challenge and expect our learners and community members to:

stride

In 2024 Ofsted graded us as good with outstanding behaviour and personal development. I am proud and honoured to be the Headteacher of such an amazing school and I promise to nurture your child as I do my own.

I make these promises to you as a parent member of our community.

I promise to:

  • Value your child as an individual with unique talents and skills
  • Care for your child as I care for my own
  • Listen carefully to you and your child
  • Help your child to be the very best they can be
  • Smile first
  • Work in partnership with you to enable your child to thrive and learn.
  • Support the development of lifelong learning habits
  • Forgive and forget
