Technology is changing the world at an unprecedented pace, and we are committed to ensuring that our children are equipped with the knowledge, skills and understanding needed to thrive in an increasingly digital society. At Newton Burgoland Primary School, we aim to develop confident, capable and responsible users of technology who understand both its opportunities and its risks.
Our computing curriculum enables pupils to become digitally literate, creative problem-solvers and effective communicators. Children learn how technology works, how to create and debug programs, how to use a range of digital tools purposefully, and how to apply computational thinking to solve problems.
We place a strong emphasis on online safety and digital citizenship, teaching children how to navigate the online world safely, responsibly and respectfully. We have high expectations for behaviour in virtual environments and ensure that pupils understand the importance of protecting themselves and others when using technology.
As technology continues to evolve, we recognise the importance of developing agile thinkers, resilient learners and confident risk-takers. Through engaging and innovative learning experiences, we encourage creativity, curiosity and adaptability, helping our children develop the confidence to embrace new technologies and shape the digital world of the future.
