At Newton Burgoland, Forest School is much more than an outdoor activity. It is a year-round journey of exploration, discovery and personal growth. Whatever the season, our children embrace the outdoors, developing confidence, resilience, independence and a deep respect for the natural world.
Throughout the year, children experience the changing seasons first-hand. In autumn, they hunt for signs of seasonal change, create natural artwork and learn about the wildlife preparing for winter. Winter brings opportunities to build shelters, investigate weather and enjoy the beauty of the natural environment in all conditions. Spring is a time of growth and discovery, with children observing new life, planting seeds and exploring the vibrant changes taking place around them. During the summer months, pupils make the most of longer days, developing practical skills, undertaking teamwork challenges and immersing themselves in outdoor adventures.
From muddy boots and campfires to teamwork and discovery, a year outdoors creates memories, skills and experiences that last a lifetime.
