At Newton Burgoland, every child is known, valued and nurtured as an individual. Our classes are caring, inclusive communities where children develop the knowledge, skills, character and confidence they need to flourish both in school and in later life. We want every child to feel a strong sense of belonging, to achieve their very best and to enjoy every step of their learning journey.

As a small village school, we are able to build strong relationships with every child and family. Our class structure is carefully planned to provide the best possible learning experience, ensuring that all children receive the right balance of support, challenge and encouragement. We also recognise the benefits of children learning alongside peers of different ages, developing independence, leadership, collaboration and respect for others.

Each class is led by a qualified teacher and supported by skilled teaching assistants where appropriate. Our staff work closely together to ensure a consistent, high-quality education, with children's wellbeing and success at the heart of everything we do.

We are committed to ensuring that every child can succeed. Teachers regularly assess learning and adapt teaching to meet individual needs, providing additional support or challenge where required. Our SEND team works closely with families and external agencies to ensure that children receive the right support at the right time.

High expectations underpin all aspects of school life. We encourage children to be kind, respectful and responsible, and we celebrate positive attitudes, effort and achievement. This helps to create calm, purposeful classrooms where everyone feels safe, valued and ready to learn.

Throughout the year, we keep parents informed about their child's learning through curriculum overviews, newsletters, parent consultations, reports and regular communication. We believe that education works best when schools and families work together, and we are proud of the strong relationships we build with our parents and carers.
