    Starting School

What time does the school day start and finish?
The school gates open at 8.35. Children should arrive on time each day to ensure they do not miss important learning activities.

What should my child bring to school each day?
Children should bring a water bottle, a coat suitable for the weather, and any items requested by their class teacher. If they bring a packed lunch, this should be clearly named.

What uniform does my child need?
We ask all children to wear the correct school uniform and sensible footwear.

What happens if my child is late?
If your child arrives after registration has closed, they must report to the school office and be signed in by an adult. Registers are marked as late.

    Attendance and Absence

What should I do if my child is ill?
Please contact the school office as early as possible on the first day of absence and keep us updated if your child remains unwell.

Can I take my child out of school during term time?
The government expects children to attend school regularly. Leave of absence during term time will not be authorised for holidays.

What happens if my child needs to attend a medical appointment?
Please inform the school office in advance and provide evidence of the appointment where possible. Appointments should be made outside of the school day if possible.

    Food and Drink

How do I order school meals?
Meals can be ordered through relish up to the published daily deadline or booked in advance.

Is my child entitled to a free school meal?
All children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 receive Universal Infant Free School Meals. Some families may also qualify for benefit-related Free School Meals. Even if your child is in receipt of universal school meals, it is worth checking if there are other benefits available.

Can my child bring a packed lunch?
Yes, but we would strongly encourage you to use our meal service.

Can my child have milk at school?
Yes. Milk is available for eligible children and can be ordered through the school's milk scheme.
