General and Statutory Information
Newton Burgoland Primary School is located in the beautiful village of Newton Burgoland. We are lucky; being surrounded by the countryside but being close enough to Measham, Ibstock and Ashby. The children in our school come from our village and from as far away as Ashby and Coalville.
When you join our school you become a part of our school family; this does not change as you move on to secondary school and beyond. Some of our family have started their adult lives at Exeter University, at Sheffield Hallam and Manchester University. Some are now teachers, vets, scientists and engineers. We are proud of them all and proud to have been a part of their individual journeys.
A very warm welcome to you all.
We are extremely proud to have been awarded the grade of Outstanding in 2011 and can hardly believe that was over 10 years ago. As Covid restrictions relax the Government have asked Ofsted to focus visits to schools on those which have not been graded for some time. We therefore expect that our school will be inspected during the academic year. Lots of things have changed in school and in the inspection system since 2011, and we are really looking forward to sharing how we have developed our curriculum and classrooms since then.
