Newton Burgoland Primary School

Together We Can Achieve Excellence

Our governors are special people who give up their time to support us on our journey to remain excellent for all of our families and pupils.

Every governors role is to govern the school in the best interests of all pupils; not to represent the interests or the constituency from which they are elected or appointed.

The Governors at Newton Burgoland Primary School are committed to providing all pupils with an "outstanding" education in a safe and happy environment. The Governing Body has a wealth of talent and is actively involved in all aspects of school life.

As a whole Governing Body we meet once a term. Our main work is carried out within working parties, or committees. The committees presently in operation are Finance and Personnel, Curriculum and Pupils and Health, Safety and Premises.

Between them, these working parties set targets, monitor progress, support and challenge. Most recently the Governing Body has been instrumental in numerous initiatives, i.e. parents forum, regular newsletters, structured monitoring, staff questionnaires, health and safety evaluations, budget setting etc.  To find out more about what each committee does and some of the work carried out please select committee pages or look at our reports.

Newton Burgoland Primary School provides a fantastic environment for learning, that as Governors we are determined to develop further.

We are always looking for new skills, so if you are able to offer a particular expertise to the governing body, to support its work, then please contact the office to find out how you can get involved. If you are an existing parent/carer and have any comments please feel free to make contact with any of the Governors, details of the governing body can be found under the ‘meet the governing body’ tab.

Please look at our newsletter tab. This provides further information on the work each committee does, information on all the governors, views from the chair, and updates on the changing national educational provision.

If you are a prospective parent/carer and are looking for a school for your child, please make contact and allow us to demonstrate what we can offer you and your child!!
