Week 4 Resources

W.B 25th Jan

We saw some fantastic learning going on last week, well done!

Below, you will find the resources you need for week 4 - the suggested timetable document contains the information you need on the learning for each subject. You can follow the links in the document to the appropriate lessons. The additional resources are uploaded at the bottom of the page.

If you haven't finished the English unit - How the Coyote brought fire to Earth, please make this a priority for the week. Lessons 8-10 of the unit are all very similar so as long as you have completed one of these 3 move on to this weeks unit.

This year our school will be taking part in the RSPB big schools birdwatch. This will continue to develop the children’s interest in the local wildlife and the world around them, as well as the opportunity to  take part in some fun activities. We will  be taking part in this on Friday 29th Jan. This is something we would very much like all of year 2 children to get involved in at home  with a linked survey ‘The big garden watch’ taking place on 29th January to the 31st.To Sign up to take part click here. All it takes are keen eyes to look out for birds in your garden or outdoor space for up to an hour and jot down what birds you see. At school we will be making bird feeders, suggested to be put up before the day so that the birds are used to where to go on the day of the count.  It would be great to share photos between the children to see how we all got on and use the information in their work for next week. See more information on how to take part here. Once your survey is completed please share with us via tapestry or email and then upload the results into the nation wide RSPB birdwatch survey online and be part of the big result.

KS2 children can access live lessons from BBC Teach and Winterwatch for a day of live lessons from 11.am on Thursday 28th January based around completing a wildlife survey. The Lessons are designed for years 3-6 and include data handling for maths and classification in science. Follow this link for info and resources

You can see resources attached below including a birdwatch powerpoint.

See more resources from the website here.

Keep sending us your work via tapestry, we will make sure we view it and provide feedback where it is needed.
